The illustration process
All comic panels were first sketched in pencil, then inked with finliner pens. Illustrations are later scanned, and the linework and colouring are finished in Photoshop before they're ready to be organized on their pages in InDesign.
Concept sketches
These drawings are early explorations of the characters, creatures, monsters and environments explored in the novel. The process created the world, narrative, and visual language that will take hold throughout the story.

Fairtail creatures
Throughout the novel, the netherworld is full of its own unique creatures, drawing heavily from folklore, fables, fantasy novels, and mythology.
Nether realm people
The nether folk are a series of people indigenous to the nether realm, whose cultures, languages, and way of life have hardly changed since the Bronze Age.
Animals and environments
These are the creatures and spaces seen in the novel.
